Created in early 2020 the work reflects the ongoing issues with climate change and, at the time, the new threat on the horizon that was the Corona Virus. The tears of the ocean, the Moana reflect the concerns over rising waters with the patterns of the hibiscus (copied from the design of the artists mother’s lavalava) have been co-opted to center the covid virus at their core.
