A work that speaks into the age-old theme of identity as it relates to Samoans who form part of the Moana diaspora in Aotearoa. This work takes the image of the Samoan flag and applies it as a painted skin to this ancestor, a reminder of the heritage of the artist but the substitution of the white stars of the Samoan flag with the red and white of the New Zealand flag anchors the work in two worlds.
