Taranaki based multidisciplinary artist Sean Hill is of Samoan/NZ descent.
Sean has many ideas, perspectives and processes of how vibrant, electrical human energy can be seen in a physical form. His practice constantly plays with form, colour and shape, his Samoan heritage serving as inspiration for his pattern artworks, themselves an abstract form of pe’a and tatau culture, forming a rhythmic abstract process the artist identifies as being Samoan.
Through reimagining nature and physical objects around him, his heritage and conceptual thinking create works that are constantly evolving - changing with the world but also adapting to new ideas.
Sean Hill graduated from the the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons) in 2018.
